Reins

De Menner sells reins for every horse and carriage type. From sulky mini pony to four-in-hand driving (draught) horses. Also part of the De Menner assortment are tandem reins (and according parts like rein clips). What you should bear in mind when purchasing reins, is the [read on] number of seams and the position where these seams are to be found. The lesser seams there are, the better the rein. All the reins sold by De Menner possess an excellent quality and the seams are far enough on the rein such that they cannot interlock or entangle themselves behind the breaching or terrets.
Leather reins, anti-slip reins or synthetic reins?
Whether you finally opt for leather reins, anti-slip reins or synthetic reins will be a decision of what you feel most convenient. Synthetic reins are nearly maintenance-free. A leather rein has a bit more “mass” than an anti-slip rein. An anti-slip rein offers a good grip even when it is raining. This is a decision you have to make following your own ‘feel’ and intuition.
